Visit some of the best Gros Morne destinations just minutes from The Candlelight and then find a cozy seat in the backyard to enjoy an unforgettable Western Newfoundland sunset. 

The Candlelight can be described as a cozy, casual guesthouse rather than a traditional bed and breakfast. We don’t believe in hovering and have designed the guest experience to be independent as you wish. Your stay always includes:

  • Communal kitchen fully stocked with complimentary continental breakfast items
  • Complimentary guest laundry nook
  • Shared backyard firepit & kitchen shed
  • In-room coffee and mini-fridge with freezer
  • High quality cotton linens and natural bath amenities

Please note The Candlelight is a seasonal inn – we typically open mid to late May and close for the season at the end of September.

We stayed at the inn in August 2025 and I can’t recommend it enough. The rooms were very comfortable, spotless and well appointed. The owners have absolutely thought of every detail - local information and key events, coffee and...laundry facilities. Breakfast selections were so far beyond a regular continental! The property is gorgeous and I only wish we had been able to use the adorable shed for a boil up. Very well located for excellent restaurants and exploring Gros Morne. A lovely place with truly thoughtful owners.

What an enjoyable stay! Michael and April are lovely hosts and have thought of many nice touches with the guest lounge and the very comfortably furnished rooms, as well as the delightful outdoor area at the back garden to sit and watch the gorgeous sea view. We slept beautifully in the comfortable bed, enjoyed the lovely, large bathroom and a shower that looked brand new. The Continental breakfast was excellent with a nice range of options and a bright, airy room to sit and eat. The inn is just a few minutes’ walk to the centre of the village of Rocky Harbour with everything reachable on foot. And it has ample free parking. The owners also gave us lots of useful tips about hiking trails and activities in the area. We would definitely return!

Really enjoyed our stay at the Candlelight Inn.April and Micheal were very kind and welcoming and obviously committed to providing a really good experience for their guests.Great location close to restaurants,only a 20 minute drive to Western Brook Pond tour and a lovely view of Ricky Harbour. Clean and comfortable rooms and a great breakfast.Couldnt ask for much more!

The new Innkeepers, April and Michael, just like the previous, Diane and Peter, are very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Our rooms were quiet, spacious, comfortable, and clean...and of course you have to love being on the water with a view of the sunset! Next trip to Gros Morne will include staying at the Candlelight - because I also have to see how their new shed project turns out. I have learned that in Newfoundland, sheds are not necessarily where you park the lawnmower, but relax, grill, maybe have gatherings. 😊. I highly recommend the personal touch of staying at the Candlelight.

If possible, we would rate this accommodation as 5-plus. It was an outstanding, sparkling clean, newly renovated small inn and hosts Michael and April were attentive to every detail to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable.
